Abstract

In this solemn session we will have the pleasure of incorporating into the National Academy of History a distinguished lady of recognized talent in the field of the study of our past, I am referring to Dr. Norma Plaza Aray de García. Norma Plaza has the merit of being one of the greatest defenders of the interests of our nation, and she demonstrated this when, after the Cenepa conflict occurred, she presented her work, in 1996, Refutation of Peruvian arguments, and the following year Vivencias, reflections and perspectives in times of war, in two volumes.

Capitán de fragata (SP).Licenciado en Ciencias Navales, incorporado en la Universidad Naval “Comandante Rafael Morán Valverde”. Miembro Numerario de la Academia Nacional de Historia. Director del capítulo Guayaquil de la Academia Nacional de Historia. Miembrode Número de la Academia Ecuatoriana de Historia Marítima y Fluvial, de la cual es presidente y la Academia Nacional de Historia Militar donde es Miembro Fundador y de Número.
