LA UNIVERSIDAD ECUATORIANA LOS INFLUJOS EXTERNOS, LAS IDEAS INTERNAS: 1940 -2010

Abstract

The present work tries to outline a panorama of the Ecuado - rian University between the years 1940 - 2010. The exhibition is a succinct review of the main political, economic and social aspects of the country in the international context, from there, the external influences in the life of the State that affect the University. Its charac - teristics as a public or private, humanistic or technical, secular or confessional entity will be reviewed. Also the thinking of some of its rectors and the leaders of the day, the changes in ideological trends and educational directionality, manifested in the approaches to developmentalism and globalization. The change in mentality will be noticed during the period under review, reflected in the various laws and institutions that govern it within the framework of state planning, and finally, within the concept of quality of education.
