LA UNIVERSIDAD ECUATORIANA: LA TRANSICIÓN DE LA COLONIA AL INICIO DE LA REPÚBLICA

This work contextualizes university life from the end of the 18th century until the beginning of the Republic of Ecuador, its core being the republican transition in Colombian times, better known as Gran Colombia. Thus, it will address the issues: The clergy in independence, highlights the proposal for university reform of the enlightened Bishop Pérez Calama and his rationalist approach. The ideological-confessional structure, its contradictions and the constitution of Cúcuta of 1821 will be reviewed as a unification proposal. The University will be examined in the Colombian stage through the General Law of Public Instruction of 1826; general university and career education; teaching practice and income for the maintenance of public education. The Study Regulations will also be analyzed in it, the priority for university education, the texts for each subject, is highlighted. The decrees of Bolívar of 1827 and 1828 and the ideological contradictions in front of the books for the study of Laws will be exposed. It will also focus on the relationships of Bolívar and Bentham; finally, the University will be reviewed at the beginning of the Republic of Ecuador.
