ORIGEN DE LA FAMILIA BALDA

Abstract

The Balda family, today based in the Province of Manabí, Ecuador, descends from Captain Don Manuel de Balda, born in Álava, País, Vasco, Spain, who went to Riobamba (Ecuador) at the beginning of the 18th century. One of his grandchildren, Raymundo Balda, born in Riobamba in 1758, settled in Guayaquil where he had as his son Manuel Balda, born in 1795, who settled in Manabí, where he married in 1823 with Teresa Santos and gave birth to the Balda de the Province of Manabí.
