TUMULTOS EN PASTO: 1781

“Revolt in Pasto: 1781” adresses, on the one hand, the popular reaction to taxes, on the other, the scope of social containment by the system colonial. It examines the etiology of the process, its causes and consequences, pausing in the analysis of its long-term political repercussions in the center of power that represented Quito. It tries to expose a new perspective to understand that the indigenous and comunity movement of Pasto was not an isolated, simple and short lived event, but quite the opposite, it forced the wheels of history to change in the south.
