Abstract

If the understanding and analysis of an artistic work can be done from the conception and process of its creation (aesthetic and artistic), from its reception and dissemination (history of social and/or cultural art) or, from both budgets, in this article, the analysis of five landscape works by the artist Rafael Troya Jaramillo (1845-1920), that is, attending to the postulates and / or categories, is fundamentally addressed from the first premise - without forgetting some questions related to the second aesthetics from which - in my opinion - they were conceived and realized, namely, those of (neo) academic classicism, those of the aesthetics of the picturesque and those of the sublime.
