Abstract

This article shows and explains what happened with the 1922 Census, a census somehow prestige, but forgotten, because their cards and questionnaires have not been found and, in general, the total result to know about the marital status of its inhabitants, the age , occupation or instruction. Here we have only been able to reconstruct its basic structure by parish and by sex and, consequently, the total population of the capital. The parish boundaries that exist then are established, and the legal and institutional basis that served the census is taken into account. The end result appears, as well as a reconstruction of the capital’s demographic conditions in the 1910s, which better contextualizes Quito’s demographic conditions at the time.
